A preview version of the highly anticipated Recall Feature for Windows 11 was launched by Microsoft last week. This feature was initially revealed during the Copilot+ PC event and faced significant backpack due to privacy issues. It also prompted Microsoft to delay its release until it could make sure that the security and privacy standards were to the mark.

The moment seems to have arrived but it is exclusively for those who are in the Windows Insider Program on the Dev channel utilizing a Snapdragon X Series powered device. Anybody meeting all the criteria will be able to enable Recall on Windows 11.

When the feature was first launched, a lot of users tried to utilise it, in a typical day, they would juggle opening and closing hundreds of windows, documents and browser tabs so the idea of seamlessly through all the content they have accessed and returning to the tasks was incredibly appealing to them.

Recall prioritizes enhanced security, the users must have BitLocker activated on their device and use Windows Hello, as authentication is required every time an individual starts Recall. This task could be tedious hence, it would be helpful if Microsoft provided options to adjust re-authentication settings.

The recall settings are reminiscent of the earlier previews which have been shown at Microsft Build, but they now have the ability to automatically exclude sensitive data such as passwords and credit card details. The users will also be able to specify certain websites and applications to be added to the filter list to prevent Recall from capturing any data from them.

If the users are using a bank website or any website of the same type,  they can add it to the list to make sure that no information from that website gets stored in Recall to keep their important information and data safe.
