Scammers always find new tricks for fraudulent activities to cheat users. The latest scam is trending with a very effective message, “Apple ID is suspended.” It seems like dupers want to target Apple users to steal their sensitive information and login credentials.
These phishing emails belong to the traditional scamming style. The email is likely designed to look like authentic emails via Apple’s official site with the same formats, colors, and logos. Additionally, scammers use a highly urgent tone, so users must pay attention to the fake emails. This makes more believable messages and forces users to take immediate action.
Therefore, the email contains a blue button or link that redirects users to the fake website. Following this, it asked for login credentials like Apple ID and password. By entering your ID, the scam successfully happened and cybercriminals can get access to your bank balance or images and photos in your iCloud account.
Fortunately, Apple’s support page issues guidelines to prevent its 2 billion users from such cyber crimes. Apple recommends never sharing your personal credentials or information with someone. You must use a two-factor authentication and not visit suspicious websites or links.
Furthermore, Apple provides reportphishing@apple.com, an official email to report scam emails and SMS texts. If you find something abusive and harassing in your iCloud account, send your report to abuse@icloud.com.
However, you can increase your cyber safety by fostering self-awareness. You need to be more careful while using Apple Macs, iPhones, and iPads to protect yourself from these phishing emails.
