Svoboda satellite package gets its 12th television channel, eQtv which consists of a diverse range of features as well as content providers such as Current Time, Radio Sakharov, Echo, TV8, Euroradio, Ost/West 24 and many more. Composite channels like IStories, Novaya Gazeta Europe, Dimitry Gordon, Irina Shikhman, Holod Media and others also feature on the platform.
The inclusion of eQtv is a major step towards a crucial development in fulfilling the increasing demands for digital security education. By incorporating technology, advocacy and education, eQtv is contributing to the development of a more knowledgeable and resilient digital community in the region.
The objectives of eQtv are a lot similar to that of the Svoboda project which aims to offer alternative channels in Russia to Russian-speaking audiences globally, including those who are in the Russian Federation. Svoboda’s signal can be accessed by more than 61 million satellite households from all corners of the world.
Founder of eQualitie, Dmitri Vitalie in a statement mentioned that eQtv has plenty of opportunity for people across Eastern Europe to learn skills that are necessary to navigate the highly complex digital arena. He added that the collaboration of eQtv with RSF allows them to fulfil the motive and reach the communities that need it the most.
eQtv has a huge library with 300 hours of multilingual content for viewers that includes practical tutorials, expert interviews, global as well as regional cybersecurity news, personal data protection, cyber hygiene and safe digital practices. All this content is available on the platform to empower individuals to take charge of their digital security.
The programming is available in three languages, English, Russian and Ukrainian with the intention to expand the content library and introduce additional languages to cater for the needs of different types of audiences, especially those who reside in rural areas, hence reducing gaps in digital literacy.
