Launched in September iOS 18 quickly garnered a reputation for being terrible, one of the major complaints from users has been about the modifications to the Photos app which some users labelled as unusable. Social media has been full of discontent as one of the users expressed their frustration stating that the photos app after the iOS 18 update is the worst thing that they ever experienced with any Apple product.
Recently, Apple introduced the iOS 18.1.1 update which faced significant criticism from the users, this update was made available on 19th November after the release of 18.1 and 18.0.1 in the preceding weeks. Users have used platform X to voice their opinions on the latest update that was released, one individual remarked iOS 18.1.1 is ‘the nastiest piece’ of the operating system.
There are other users also who labelled it as the worst update ever lamenting that they shouldn’t have updated and if they could get back to the previous version. They further added that doing so would cost them all their data and they would have to perform a complete reset of their device.
A user posted on the platform, “The new photo and video editing features, along with the overall structure, are incredibly frustrating and no longer user-friendly. The ‘favorites’ feature has disappeared, and the new format for viewing photos and videos is difficult to navigate. The previous version was far superior.”
The video editing capabilities were criticized and users added that their passwords seemed to be vanished from their homepage advising fellow iPhone users to go through the changes before they move ahead with updating their devices.
However, according to the Apple website, the 18.1.1 update has only made some minor changes and it offers major security fixes and it is recommended that all users get this update.
