Carry-On has been making a lot of noise since its release on Netflix. And honestly? We can’t blame these people. We were able to watch this movie the other day, and we loved it so much. Most people have shared their thoughts about the film — many enjoyed it, while others criticized it saying it’s not realistic and stuff. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but personally, we really enjoyed it despite the so-called lapses some people are pointing out.
The only problem after watching a new movie we really like is how to fill that void or desire to watch another one similar to it. Well, you don’t have to look any further because we will be sharing four movies that are similar to Carry-On. Just make sure you have a fast internet connection like Boost Infinite and others when streaming so you can really enjoy the film.
The Weekend Away is not super similar to Carry-On’s plot, but it gives off the same suspense and thrill. It’s about two bestfriends – Kate and Beth – who had planned a weekend getaway to Croatia. Beth shared that her marriage is on the rocks, and so they went clubbing. There were two men who flirted with them, and Kate actually pushed Beth to have a one-night stand with one of the men flirting with them. Upon waking up groggy, she realizes her Kate is suddenly missing. Now, she has to look for her bestfriend in a city she’s not even familiar with.
The Red Eye is closest to Carry-On, as it also happened in an airport and airplane but the plot is slightly different. Rachel McAdams stars as Lisa Reisert who’s a hotel manager who’s returning to Miami from her grandmother’s funeral. She decided to take a red-eye flight at Dallas Love Field where she meets a fine-looking man named Jackson Rippner.
It’s all sunshine and rainbows until Jackson revealed his true intentions — to assassinate the United States Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security whose family is currently staying at the hotel where Lisa works. This is a really great movie so make sure your internet plans can deliver great speeds for uninterrupted streaming.
We loved Liam Neeson in this film! We’re so used to him being in control, or let’s say, dominant, just like his character in Taken. In The Commuter, he stars as Michael MacCauley, a former police officer turned insurance agent who always takes the same train route. He was laid off, but he’s got bills to pay and a wife and son to feed. Then, he meets a mysterious woman who asks her to find a passenger carrying a stolen item. In return, he gets paid a total of $100,000.
Being a former police officer, he tries to do it the right way but the woman kept blackmailing her and using her family against him. Even though he can make calls in a snap (talk about strong cell phone service, right?), he’s being watched closely by this woman. Michael now needs to fight for his life and his family’s while solving this whole fiasco.
As what the title states, it’s literally about snakes on a plane. It’s about Sean Jones who is a witness against a big crime lord named Eddie Kim. Sean is on a flight to LA under FBI protection. Kim can’t have him land alive to witness against his crimes, so he tries to sabotage the plane they’re on by releasing venomous snakes that were made aggressive using pheromones. What else is there to expect? Chaos happens and everyone fights for their lives, while an FBI agent tries his best to save everyone and have the plane land safely.
Carry-On was definitely a great watch, but these films can give you a different level of thrill and excitement. Most of these films can be watched on most streaming platforms, so no worries. You’ll be able to get that Carry-On fix now that you have your next watchlist. Have fun!
